About Me
Well let's see. My mom is from Honduras, and my dad is from Cuba; so that makes me a mutt. That's okay though, because too much of one thing can be boring at times (at least that's what I tell myself). I have three older sisters, who liked to pick on me when I was growing up. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right? Tell that to my therapist, BABY RUTH. I'm kidding, though. They did pick on me, but I'm over it. That's what kids do...mean kids, that is.
All in all, I'm an iconoclast at heart. I value sincerity, integrity and inherit individuality. I'm a big fan of animals, but I must admit; I'm partial to cats. I have an odd fascination with the word, "milk". Say it a couple of times aloud. Weird isn't it?
I love art in any form, for the most part. I might think the feather in your sandwich is art, I might not. I never knew I could draw or be artistic, until I was in high school and I was forced to. From then on I knew that this was something that I was going to be involved with for the rest of my life. Luckily enough, it has been; thanks to the web. Designing websites and online creatives is always a learning process and I love it. It requires the perfect balance of art and technology; which is why I like it so much.
Recently I've taken up a bit of photography as a means to expand myself. There's something about capturing the right moment and having a tangible record of that instant in time. It's an amazing feeling when you take a great photograph. It's kind of like the feeling you get when you make your first edible meal. It's a very fulfilling feeling. It's also interesting because of the diversity of all the little gadgets and tricks you can use during the process. It really makes you think twice before you snap your picture, because you're always thinking to yourself, "But what if I..."
I'm a big nerd when it comes to all things science and math related. I think math is more creative than people give it credit for, and I do believe it's universal. Like "Stop, drop, and rrroollll". That has to be an archetype, and if it's not, than it will be! I love trying to solve problems, and I tend to get carried away when it comes to fixing computers and electronic junk. I'll skip meals sometimes just trying to resolve an issue. I'm not sure if that means I have OCD or if it's because I'm really dedicated. I like to think the latter. I like to think the latter.
I'm also a big fan of philosophy. I've been applying the Socratic Method for years. Too bad my parents never really appreciated it when I was growing up. To them it wasn't so much the Socratic Method as it was the Annoying Kid Method. Although, in retrospect, I did make them laugh a couple of times with my questioning. Suffice to say, Socrates is my favorite philosopher. Besides him, I have the up most respect for the usual suspects of philosophy: Kant, Descartes, Hobbes, Rousseau, Kierkegaard, Locke and even lil'ol Thales. They've all taught me a thing or two about morality and what not.
Anyway, if you want to know more about my professional stuff, you can download my resume below. Just make sure you have Acrobat Reader installed. If not, you can download it here. Hopefully you have a fast internet connection, or you'll be playing Solitaire for a while as it downloads. You can also check out my portfolio to see a small sample of my body of work.
